When I was young I frequently drew pictures of cars. This was back in the 1980s/ early 1990s. I loved Porsches back the and, inspired by dad never wanting to buy a car that didn't have rear passenger doors, drew a design for a 4 door Porsche! With this Taycan I think someone got hold of one of my drawings. 😒 Nice car though.

Would take this over a Tesla any day of the week.

What lets this car down, and many others (excepting maybe Tesla?) is that the car manufacturers rely on third party electrical charge station suppliers leading to problems such as differing plug points, charging time, having to download apps. to use the charger, if you find a charger ( especially a RAPID charger) suitable for your car. Look at Tesla who have their own charge points over a growing number of places, simply scan your bank card and charge your car. Unless other manufacturers follow suit then Tesla will be the less hastle car to have in regard to finding a RAPID charge point area for charging your battery. Maybe manufacturers can emulate Tesla in uniformity of charging stations for charging any brand of vehicle ( petrol cars have a uniform petrol entry port enabling fills at any station irrespective of station owner) but don't hold your breath. But time will tell -maybe things will improve over time. Maybe the Govt. could see an opportunity to get into the provision of sites ? Hmmm

The colour is ugly, but not as ugly as the car itself. The front end looks like it’s crying, and the front guard/front door look like they’re both from different cars and somehow mashed together. Just yuk.

The relationships in the VAG group are really interesting ones. We have VW which are like the mature father - they are doing their own thing and based on their experience they just bring up suggestions to their sons - Audi and Porsche. Sometimes they even borrow some technical knowhow from them. Audi are like the big brother who is out there exploring new territories, venturing into the unknown, but doing so carefully. They almost never go all out and look for the path of least resistance in the future. Porsche on the other hand are like the little brother who always wants to outshine the big brother, does stupid stuff and picks fight with the new hottest kid on the block. They just entered Formula E, wasting unknown millions in battery development just when Audi retired from that doomed series in order to prepare for a comeback at Le Mans with the real future of the automobilism - hydrogen cars. I haven't been this excited about something coming up in the car world since Audi put a Bi-turbo V10 into a family estate. I really hope that once the hydrogen class rises in popularity those purely battery powered abominations would disappear from the face of the world.
